Archives and Records does not provide services to the public but does provide
a wide range of archive and retrieval services to other county departments.
Information management and record keeping can be a daunting task because of the many legal requirements based on a number of criteria for each type of common record. Managing various information whether it is in paper document, microfilm, map/plan, or electronic data form can be complex as well as time consuming.
Our plan as being part of the Department of Information Technology is to embrace new technologies as we customize services to help meet the needs of the various departments of the County while saving time in the access of researching of materials. Our record keeping system is vital and will benefit all. We must work together to prevent losses legally and systemically, but more importantly we must protect our valuable history.
