NOTICE TO VOTERS ON EARLY VOTING (pdf)

In addition to the forty-five (45) days of absentee voting by mail with or without a reason, voters can now vote in person forty-five days before an election with no reason. Voters may now visit the Elections and Registration office (121 S. McDonough Street, Jonesboro) and request to vote early without providing a reason. Voters are also encouraged to take advantage of voting during the week of advance voting (the week before each election except run off and special elections) at one of our six (6) advance voting sites. Remember, there is no voting the Monday before the election. All absentee, early and advance voting ends the Friday before the election.

ADVANCE VOTING

Advance voting is designed to meet the needs of today’s busy Georgians. This Georgia Law offers you a great solution when you can't vote absentee and allows it to fit into your business schedule.

Previously, Georgia election law permitted you to cast an absentee ballot only if you met certain specific requirements. With advance voting you may choose to vote in person before Election Day simply as a matter of convenience. Advance voting allows any registered voter to cast a ballot IN PERSON at the county voter registration office or at one of the satellite locations Monday through Friday of the week prior to an election from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Simply fill out an application at the Board of Elections and Registration Office or one of the satellite locations and provide one of the permitted forms of identification. You will be issued a ballot to cast right there on site. It’s that simple!

Please note that you cannot advance vote on the Monday immediately preceding the Tuesday election. Traditional polling places will be open on Election Day. However if you choose to Advance Vote, you cannot cast another ballot at your precinct on Election Day.
