NOTICE TO VOTERS ON EARLY VOTING (pdf)
In addition to the forty-five (45) days of absentee voting by mail with or without a reason, voters can now vote in person forty-five days before an election with no reason. Voters may now visit the Elections and Registration office (121 S. McDonough Street, Jonesboro) and request to vote early without providing a reason. Voters are also encouraged to take advantage of voting during the week of advance voting (the week before each election except run off and special elections) at one of our six (6) advance voting sites. Remember, there is no voting the Monday before the election. All absentee, early and advance voting ends the Friday before the election.
ADVANCE VOTING
Advance
voting is designed to meet the needs of todays busy Georgians.
This Georgia Law offers you a great solution when you can't vote
absentee and allows it to fit into your business schedule.
Previously,
Georgia election law permitted you to cast an absentee ballot only
if you met certain specific requirements. With advance voting you
may choose to vote in person before Election Day simply as a matter
of convenience. Advance voting allows any registered voter to
cast a ballot IN PERSON at the county voter registration office or at one of the satellite locations Monday through Friday of the
week prior to an election from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
