The
Building and Maintenance department is responsible
for the maintenance of all county owned and operated buildings,
renovation of existing county owned and operated buildings and
the construction of new county owned and operated buildings.
Employees
in this department respond to approximately 1000 calls per month.
Such work performed includes: Plumbing; Electrical; Cabinetry; Locksmith; Roofing; Flooring; Concrete; and Heating and Air Conditioning.
County renovation projects include:
112 Smith Street Building; 120 Smith Street Building; Central Services; International Park VIP Complex; Extension Service; Tag Office; Tax Assessors Office; Transportation and Development - TCC Building - Traffic Engineering Signal Shop; Community Development/Planning & Zoning - Business License; Transportation and Development/Crew Building; 1117 Battle Creek building/walls (Archives); Fleet Maintenance - Ice House;
Central Services - Roof/Warehouse; North Police Precinct Renovation; Correctional Institute - Shower Stalls; Headquarters Library - Paint; Morrow Library - Paint; Headquarters Fire Station - Roof/Old Riverdale Library; Justice Complex - Courtrooms - Superior, Superior Court Offices;
and Jonesboro Recreation Center - Restrooms
Building projects include: International Park Tennis Complex; Flat Shoals Park Concession; Forest Park Concession; Love Joy Recreation Complex; Panhandle Park Office-Concession; Refuse Control; Recycling Center; Reynolds Nature Addition; Transportation and Development - TCC building;
Building and Maintenance building; Old 911 Building for Voter Registration; Computer Center Office Space; Central Services Warehouse; and Animal Control Shed and Fencing.
