Corrections Department
Frank Taylor Smith, Director On March 17, 2009, the Board of Commissioners created the Corrections Department by combining Clayton County Prison and Refuse Control Division, placing both under the leadership and management of Warden Frank Taylor Smith. In the interests of economy and efficiency, the Board of Commissioners also moved the county road grass cutting operations under the Corrections Department. This gives the department better control in overseeing the cleaning of county buildings and the upkeep of grounds and roads using inmate labor and court ordered community service workers where needed. Operation of the prison, a part of the Georgia Prison System, remains unchanged. This department is dedicated to cost control while providing quality services to other departments within the county and our citizens. |
