Zoning Ordinance

The Zoning Ordinance of Clayton County was Adopted by the Board of Commissioners (BOC) on May 22nd 2008 and effective July 24, 2008. On December 2012 24th 2012 the BOC adopted the zoning layer of the County’s Enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS) as the official zoning map of the County. The Zoning Map is accessible from the County’s Website on front page. The map icon “GIS Viewer” on this page also displays amongst other map layers the zoning layer of Clayton County.

Zoning is an implementation tool for Land-Use as referenced in the Comprehensive Plan. Its application is vital to Zoning; Rezoning; Conditional Use Permit; Subdivision Process; Board of Appeals Process; Land disturbance Process, Building Permit; Sign Permit and Variance
