Estate Matters

We will be accepting Walk-Ins for Temporary Guardianship Petitions Monday, August 3, 2009 through Friday August 7, 2009 and Monday, August 10, 2009 through Friday August 14, 2009 from 9:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. on each day. Please be advised that if you have an appointment scheduled during the above listed dates, and you arrive late, you will be re-classified as a walk-in and will be required to take the next available place in line.

Although the Probate Court of Clayton County does NOT accept pleadings transmitted electronically or by FAX, Probate Court standard forms for estate matters may be downloaded from www.GaProbate.org. The site also includes information regarding the duties of Personal Representatives, the Handbook for Guardians, and Proceeding Pro Se."

Effective November 15, 2006, estate index researches will no longer be conducted via the telephone due to the increase volume of phone call requests. Should you wish to know if there has been an estate filed in this office you may obtain that information in either of two ways: (1) In person - you may check the public terminal in our office for free or (2) By mail - For a $5.00 fee per each estate name, you may request a search of the estate indexes. Mail your request to Clayton County Probate Court, 121 South McDonough Street, Annex Bldg 3, Jonesboro GA 30236 and include a stamped, self-addressed envelope for an answer.
